Hi All,

When I am executing 350 CCU on loadrunner, I am getting "   XXXXXX has shut down the connection prematurely" error in controller. Here XXXXXX is the webserver used for testing. Can someone explain the root cause of this and steps to avoid it.

Regards,
N.Srinivas.

Have you ever tried to reduce the 350? Cause my suggest is to start with 20-30 users first then increase it.. This may be an attack for server to connect with 350 users at the same time..

Hi Srinivas,

This type error was encounterd  in my project, this was resolved when the tunning was done the application, the application was not stable to withstand the no of Vusers. please carry the load testing with less no of users and then keep increaing the usres until u get the error.

Srinivas,

Can you please check your configuration.xml file for connection
pooling settings. what is the maximum connection pooling size and if
it not more than 350 then make it as 400 or 500 then execute your
tests with 350.

thanks,
Mallik.

to LoadRunner
but not recommended to start your tests with 350 in initial stage.
start with 10 or 20 vusers then check for whether it is reaching your
SLA or not.

if not check where it gone wrong by analyzing the results and tune
it.........then go ahead with increasing the load.....!

consult your developers/DBA for better understanding of web server/
data base settings that needs to be done for good response time.

regards,
Mallik.

Srinivas,

already you have received most of inputs related to your query hope your issue might have resolved by now if not hope my input might help you.

First option is check if there are no network glitches during your testing.
Secondly check your connection pool settings as suggested by Mr. Mallik
Next is if your target is 350 dont try with 20/30 try with 100 Vusers and check how is your XXX server is performing, browse through logs and closely monitor the health.

By these you should be able to figure out whre is the bottleneck.

Thanks and Regards

Thanks Serdar, mahadev, mallik and reddy for your valuable inputs to my query...

Before doing a 350 CCU test, I happened to do a 2500 CCU test and it worked fine...
We could indentify that it was due to network intermittent disconnect... 350 CCU test failed.

Hi Can you specify the following additionally with your post

1)Users vs Ramp up rate
2)Number of LG agents (their health)
3)Webserver health when loaded
4)Type of webserver

To answer your issue straight is a guess in any case unless more info is known
