Please have a seat.  As part of your in person interview prior to extending you an offer you will be asked to demonstrate your skills using LoadRunner in the following areas

·         Script Development with a script provided by us on an application provided by us.   This will not be the flights application from training.

·         A requirements document for you to review and provide feedback.  Your feedback will be compared to other candidates and out current internal staff

·         An analysis set from an existing performance test.   Provide to us feedback based upon the results set available.   As with the requirements feedback your analysis will be compared to other candidates and the analysis provided by our own internal staff.

You will have assigned observers for each set of activities.  Any follow up questions will be dictated by your work product.   Expect questions which involve the phrase “compare and contrast” with an expectation of being able to use the whiteboard for the discussion.

You should also note that with the many sites on the internet which contain LoadRunner interview questions a fair portion of these sites contain questions with deliberately seeded incorrect answers.   These questions are often used as control questions in interviews to determine which sites candidates have been studying and to find out if the LoadRunner knowledge is purely from memorization of questions and answers or is tied to actual experience.

300 hours of classroom + 1200 hours of hands on experience + passing two exams  are required to obtain a license to cut hair in the state of NC

This is 1500 hours and two exams more than what is required to enter into a career as a performance tester.

The average new hairdresser|barber has a greater command of tools and process than the average new performance tester.

Is this a problem?

If you want to just cross the hurdle of Interview, you better be thorough with help files and function  reference document. But if you want to work in a team of performance testing with Performance test engineer tag, follow the steps provided by James in another way considering the rigorous training and hands on session on each component.

There is no one in this group who find short cuts and/or answers to "TRICKY" Questions from your point of view.

One way to find "TRICKY" questions is to read each and every question and answer right from the first mail in this group.

Read James's replies too. Take them in positive way. Understand them. They will help you understand every side of LoadRunner.

I say this to everyone who wants to find a shortcut.

Not far from the truth.  The last place I attended an interview , after the initial half hour to one hour tech  / in person interview, they said:

"Please have a seat over there.  As part of your in person interview prior to extending you an offer you will be asked to demonstrate your skills using LoadRunner  Script Development with a Business Case provided by us on an application provided by us.   This will not be the flights application from training. Its a live application we use for our banking functions "

it took about two and a half hours to do two scripts (HTTP/HTML, and a WS).  In the process they learnt a couple of tricks on LR.9.x from me . I learnt not to go to an interview on an empty stomach expecting it to be over in an hour...

You know who you are guys - sitting in Burlington, NJ.... :)

Send me the questions you want answered and I will send you the answers you can use in the interview. Most of my answers will be easy for you to remember and go like this:

Please go to the next question. I don't really know what I am doing I just heard there was money in performance testing and thought I would be one.

Got that?
