Dear All,

I am working on the .net application which is a desktop and client/
server architecture.I am checking the feasibility of application with
loadrunner(on trial version). but when i tried to record the events
(like logging into application and doing some transactions) through
load runner they were not recorded. I tried it using the
MS.NET,winsocket protocols but found no sucess in either of case. Does
Loadrunner needs .net addins as in case with QTP for .net based
application?
If any one can clarify on this it will be of great use for me.

Thanks,
Shantanu

No you don't need any add-in for loadrunner. But I can't remember if you can record .net applications in trial version.

My suggest to you is first try to record a web application (like google.com), try to make some events on vugen..

You first need to check with your developers, how does the client/application communicates. This will save you a lot of time identifying the right protocol. It could be  HTTP? COM/DCOM? SOAP over HTTP?

Hi ,

I thing your application has developed using ADO.net. In this case you
need to select microsoft Vuser .net protocol to record the client/
server activities. Trial version of LR is not working for this
protocol so ask your client to purchase license version.

Thanks & Regards,

I don't think that you require a license version to record the
activities. Vugen does not require any license to work.
From the previous posting, it seemed that there are no communications
at all... is it a client activity that you are recording? :)
It will not work.
