Loadrunner 11.04 browser compatibility

Hi All,

This is regarding browser compatibility for LR 11.04.

From the Read Me document I can see that LoadRunner version 11 supports up to Internet Explorer version 8. Also I read that by applying patch 4 on LR 11 we can even emulate Internet Explorer 9.0.

The AUT which needs to be Performance tested is fully functional(compatible) only IE10 or above. I tried emulating IE 11 browser from Vugen 11.04 on our AUT and fortunately the script is working fine without any issues.

Can I use the same script which is recorded using Vugen 11.04 by emulating IE 11 browser to run on a Load Generator which has a version of 11.04 ?

My doubt here is if I face any issues in scripting going forward, will HP provide me the needed support as I have not used the recommended browser version for LR 11.04 ?

Generally, replay is independent of browser. If you mean using the User agent string under Browser emulation in Run time settings as emulating, then try to replay the script from LG machine either using Vugen or from command prompt. If the replay is successful, then go ahead for the test.
By the way, LR 11.04 is in extended support, so you can get support from HP, but you can't get any special patches/hotfixes(if required)

If you are running an HTTP virtual user then you are not running a full browser.  The only thing you are missing is possible a change in the number of download threads per host between versions, with an increase with browser versions.  This would impact the time required to retrieve all components.  Other than that, you should be fine.
