I currently have an issue in LoadRunner where the recorded scripts
(http) in VuGen run successfully. I have applied a transaction timer
around the entire "Action" portion of the simple script. In VuGen the
time to complete one iteration is less than 1 second.
I validated that this operation completes in the time stated by VuGen
by getting execution time from httpWatch.

Here is the issue: I run only one vuser in a scenario that runs the
script one iteration at a time. The controller reports the transaction
response time at around 4 seconds. Based on these findings, I do not
trust these results. I have modified many settings for cache, ignore
think time, etc, but it did not reduce the response time. The CPU is
barely in use on the load generating machine.

Any thoughts/help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
i guess the only piece of suggestion i can giv u is that if you have put transaction around the whole action part in the script, then logically it wud b difficult to complete the whole transaction within 1 sec as it is low a value for any transaction.u can try dis out urself with a stopwatch may be.and vugen jst replays the same script.so its very much much posible that it takes it up from the cache..nd thats y it doesnt take a lot of time....

Google for difference between running the scripts in vugen and
controller.Whatever you see in controller is your response time.

Try checking your logging, etc. in runtime settings. Controller
overrides vugen for runtime settings, and you need to make sure the
runtime settings are identical to what you had in vugen solo.

Hope this helps,

Roland

Found the cause... There is a threshold setting "Generate think time
greater than threshold" with a value of 3, I unchecked this option and
it appears to run normal. Interesting as well, My scripts are set to
ignore think time, however, the controller did not seem to honor this
setting... the report states that think time is included.
Is there any way to ensure that the controller is indeed ignoring the
think time.
