MS Dynamics crm recording

Hi,
We are trying to record ms dynamics crm application.when we click on some activity ,it opens a new window.while recording loadrunner gets stuck whenever new window comes up.some times it open new window but unable to record further.we are using LR9.51/9.52 with IE 7.
Can anyone has any solution to this problem.

Hi guys/Jamie,

I did rummage through search sites and found little material/guidance
w.r.t scrpting MS Dynamics CRM.

Would be great if someone(James.. you there?) can share the info on
this particular type of scripting and suggested best practices if any.

Has anyone ever done the scripting for MS Dynamics CRM application. If
yes, can you please let me know the protocol to use for it? I have ran
the app through the protocol advisor and it suggested the following:

Ajax(Click and Script)
Webservices
Web http/html.

I tried with Ajax, but it was of no good use. And when tried with Http/
html, after replaying the script, only the first page was properly
shown in the test results in the vugen. The subsequent pages are
displayed as only XML.

Hmmm...finally a thread about Dynamics and LR. I posted the same questions back in 2008 on various forums (foraa? :) ), when the company I was working with was replacing Peoplesoft Finance with MS Dynamics AX (lets call it DAX moving forward). I was assigned the task of testing performance. 

Naturally, given my limited knowledge, skill set, and will to explore, I could not get whatever version of Vugen we were using back then (9.50 I think) to record the DAX application. So what did I do? I did what every honest, self respecting and seasoned tester would do, I told the higher ups that this ain't possible :). DAX cannot be recorded using LR 9.50. The experts here would agree that I probably was more lucky than smart to have survived that kind of ignorance and deceit.

Anywho, a year passed, I was still there, but a lot of the higher ups have moved on thanks to the financial market crash. DAX was still there too, but was placed under the Citrix umbrella. A new req for performance test comes from a new boss. Again, luck was on my side. Citrix protocol saved my job, and probably my mortgage too.

So bottom line: Citrix protocol, Keyboard shortcuts during recording, add the forms that cant be accessed via keyboard to 'My Favorites' within the Dynamics application. Avoid the mouse like plague, only use it if you can't do it any other way. I understand Citrix may not be an option to y'all, but hey, if it is, you are welcome. If it's not, wait till the experts -  James, et al. - respond. Good luck!
