We want to implement source control for our loadrunner/vugen scripts and if possible want to use subversion.  Obviously we can do this just using Windows Explorer and TortoiseSVN, but ultimately we'd like to have something more built in like the Quality Center Version Control capability.  To me the downside to using Quality Center is that you in essence need to create a new project in QC for each load testing project and there is also a desire here to keep everything in one repository.  Right now we are using the 9.5 suite of tools and are going to start piloting version 11, so maybe the version control capabilities are enhanced in the new version as well.  In summary what I'm asking is for an opinion and experience with version control in this scenario.  Thanks in advance!

I use git. It works well, if you're willing to have a little steeper
learning curve.
It pays itself off very well though, especially in case like ylib
where every script can potentially have its own private branch of
certain files, depending on requirements.

As for having something built-in .. yeah, good luck with that.
Performance Center does give you *something* but it's still based on a
basic folder structure, rather than a true VCS or even distributed VCS
a lá mercurial or git.

Perhaps HP will surprise us with something in the future but I'm not
holding my breath.

'Many people asked me if I was afraid to fly and implied that I should
have stayed home, close to family and friends. I replied that if I had
stayed home, the terrorists would have won.

Unfortunately, my government does not agree with my definition of
winning. They think that living in fear and trying desperately to keep
us all 100% safe while flying is the most effective way to fight
terrorism. It reminds me of a boss that told me he liked it when
people lived in fear of being fired, they worked harder. I told him
being fired held no fear for me. When you live in fear, you do
irrational things - like sending millions of people's shoes through an
xray scanner every day.'

Performance Center 11.00 gives you much better version control capabilities than in the past. This capability is built on top of ALM/QC 11.00 version control capabilities.
