Please let me know if you face any issues.

Yes, the workaround is to read the installation requirements. Windows 7 is not a supported OS for 9.52. You will need 11 if you wish to have your OS supported.
Larger question, why would anyone install a testing tool in an unsupported configuration? This provides ample ammunition to anyone who wishes to attack the integrity of your test results and legitimately so.

There are many .Net applications which use XML for data exchange as between client and web services, as well as some which are purely HTTP based. Are you suggesting that such standard protocol based solutions are completely untestable via Grinder? If you were to post such an observation on groups which support Grinder I think you would find a different response.

Label on the outside of email says timekeeping on a Rolex. Text on the inside asks how to change the battery on a Timex. Answer how to change the battery.
Oh, and #1 most common problem with things not working correctly, outside of version mismatch to OS/browser, is making sure you have the appropriate rights on the host where your LR components are installed. The rights that you will need are documented in the installation requirements.
As to the .iso thingy, you will either need to burn the image to a DVD for installation or use any of the installable file system utilities out here in the Internet which would then allow you to “mount” the .iso as an external file system and install from there,.
Toodles….
.Net is a development model, not a protocol. .Net development model applications take many forms, including those that may be tested with technologies from any/all/most commercial vendors, including HP with LoadRunner. One of the original foundation technologies of .Net is the use of XML and web services, even with thick client technologies. These can clearly be tested with HP LoadRunner. Additionally .Net development models can be sued for ORACLE Applications, SQL Server Applications, ODBC Applications (with an OLEODBC shim), Sockets applications, etc… All of these can be tested with LoadRunner, some of them can be tested with open source tools. Once you get into .Net developed thick clients which make use of .Net remoting for connectivity between hosts then your options become very limited, consisting of .Net thick client development model integrations with your test tool (a la .Net virtual user), RDP/Citrix or GUI Virtual Users.
The last items associated with thick clients clearly cannot be tested with Grinder, etc…
Open Source technologies have been poor substitutes compared to the commercial tools for two tier thick client technologies. This is true not only for HP, but also for Rational and Microfocus’ twins of QALoad and SilkPerformer. If it’s Winsock then you pretty much are into a pure Java tool or commercial test tool.
But, if the .net development model application makes use of web services and XML for data transport between layers then you have many options for tools based upon http.
So, to say that [Insert tool here] Cannot test a .Net development model application because it does not have .net on the tool is wrong. Cultivate your architectural eye and consider the transport foundations of your application. Consider the model of ASP.Net, which is pretty much HTTP. It’s built using a .Net development model, but its deployment is HTTP as a transport.
Application architecture is something which can be taught. Cultivating your architectural eye is something which comes from mentoring and experience. This is why you need both training and mentoring to be successful in this profession.
