SO . . . Elizabeth Dimarco of Books I Love has kindly (and unpromptedly, if that is a word) connected me to the organizer behind the Pub Sense Summit in South Carolina. That's the only other conference I have found that was doing what digi.lit did. Last year's keynotes were Jane Friedman (the sam Jane Friedman who came to digi.lit, not Open Road Jane) and Hugh Howey.

I'm not sure what do to with this connection and possibility for collaboration . . . (other than thank Elizabeth and say hello to Shari, which I've done.)

Any ideas? Their conference is mind-bogglingly huge. Three days and many sponsors that we wanted for ourselves.

Janine and Shari,

I’ve meant to introduce you to each other for quite a while. Janine is with the fabulous LitQuake and DigiLit in SF and Shari is founder extraordinaire of PubSense Summit in Charleston. I think there are many ways for you to connect your organizations, or at least share your learnings, and I look forward to the results!

all the best,
Elizabeth

Damn! That's a great contact. Nice!

Maybe we could chat with them over Skype? Or we could see if any of their sponsors want to sponsor this year's mini-digi.lit day during the fest?

their conference is in 39 days, once it wraps we should chat with them as we begin to put our panels together.
i love the idea of having separate sponsors just for those days' panels.

yes, probably now is not the best time to ask them for a skype call so we can pick their brains! but they could prove a valuable ally.

Has anyone reached out to them yet? It'd be great to brainstorm with them...

Shari and I had a brief but enthusiastic "HI!" and "Great to meet you!" Lots of exclamation marks were exchanged, but not much else. :-)

I can reach out again to say hello and congratulate her a great conference (note to self: check twitter to get some info on the conference)

Did we decide about our first digi.lit meeting? It looks like both Lise and I will be at AWP so April 22 would be better for both of us.
