I'm planning to head north beginning on Tuesday afternoon at 331pm via
the clean air express stop at Hollister and Patterson.

That bus is $7 and arrives in Santa Maria at 431pm. From there I might
try a bus to Guadalupe and then a walk north, or a bus to SLO, and
then other busses to Paso Robles, Fort Hunter Liggett, Salinas, and
then Monterey for a night at least. Then going through the bay area by
train and bus, and after that I have no idea. There's a small chance I
may hop on Amtrak at some point to be in Portland before the VBC
finishes on June 5 (and maybe see Natalie there).
I don't have plans for any long forest walks-- this may be more of a
public transit hobo style trip. But knowing me I'll get sick of bus
riding and start walking at some point.
If following along for a bit of that adventure interests you,
let me know where along the way I might meet up with you!
There's at least one other possibility of a hike in that trip that's
already occurred to me:
Fort Hunter Liggett to the ventana wilderness or Carmel Valley and
then into Monterey that way.
I really don't have solid plans--
and only came up with that departure time and place so I could write
this email and you might have a chance to at the least use this
adventure as a starting point for your own.
I will be surprised if you want to join me for this
"Hobo School II: + public transit"
but who knows, it could happen, and could lead to grander things.
Did you know that Soren Gordhamer , founder of the Wisdom 2.0
conferences, walked across the US with "Global Walk for a Livable
World."

This doesn't compare but eventually all of us might collaborate on
something bigger.
Please note:
0) Please let me know by 9am on Monday if you'd like to meet up
somewhere along the way-- if I don't hear from anyone by then I might
leave Monday afternoon instead.
1) You need ID (DL or Passport) to enter Fort Hunter Liggett.
