Good evening everyone. I would like to get a vote on the state fair. We have over 50% of shifts covered at this time.

The registration is $1,000. To remind everyone, we have an extra $6k that was sent to the LPVA by a donor in support of the Chase Oliver campaign. I feel those funds should be used for this effort.

I still want to hear back from the YAL and see if they can help support, but I also like what Brian suggested; the ad coverage and marketing is a good idea for sure. We can do that with Youtube as well. The only concern at that point would be getting someone to help with the production of something relevant and interesting...so if we know anyone good with digital video marketing, lets consider this in addition to the State Fair because I do think its important to market ourselves -- a lot.

Good morning,

I agree with what Amity wrote.  But if we can't get at least 1 person there per shift, I would prefer to use that money for something else.  For example, several years ago I spoke with a representative from Comcast cable and she was telling me that for $500 we could cover the New River Valley (Montgomery Co in 9th CD) with a couple weeks worth of internet ads.

Are there any ramifications for not manning the booth 100% of the time? For example, being banned from having a booth at future state fairs? If not, I’d be more inclined to vote yes. I’m not confident we have enough interest to fill all the slots.
