Colleagues,

Our second-to-last scheduled meeting is set for tomorrow at 8:00 PM, please let me know if you are unable to attend. I would like to note that we are likely to have a meeting in January unless we're able to move through the remaining proposals quickly, we can discuss the timing at the end of our meeting. Also, I would kindly ask that anyone planning on submitting any additional proposals do so as soon as you can, this will help determine the appropriate number of meetings we should have before presenting our report to the membership. I'm also hoping to avoid having any meeting in February so we can instead hold at least one town hall for the LPVA membership to review and ask questions surrounding the proposals.

Here is the agenda for our meeting, it and the draft minutes that Mr. Ogle has prepared are also attached. Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow!

Dear colleagues,

As I continued thinking about the lifetime membership issue I began looking through the governing documents of other state affiliates this afternoon. I’ve already noted a few states’ documents that might aid our discussion, but I wanted to draw special attention to the bylaws of the Libertarian Party of Idaho. That document contains the following section:

“Lifetime Membership: A Bylaws Sustaining Member (BSM) who donates more than or equal to a preset amount within a calendar year, set by the Executive Board, shall automatically become a lifetime member. This membership will be contingent upon the person to maintain all qualifications of a Bylaws Sustaining Member at all times.”

That exact language doesn’t quite with what the LPVA has in its current documents, but it seems like it might be a good starting point for discussion.

Kind regards,

Joseph Knowles

I think this is a good template, here's my first attempt at adapting this idea to fit the LPVA:

Any member of the national Libertarian Party who donates at or above an amount set by the State Central Committee within one calendar year shall be considered a life member. Life members are exempt from any annual dues required for membership in the Party in perpetuity, but must meet all other membership requirements of membership, including domiciliary residency, to be considered members of the Party.

I know the "...including domiciliary residency..." is redundant if read properly, but I want to make extra sure that no one can argue that this isn't required.
