Hello All Amateur Astronomers,
SPACE is happy to invite you to join another exciting opportunity that we are
bringing for amateur astronomers to be involved in a prestigious real time
astronomy project, the Great Indian Star Count which will be conducted from Oct
29th – Nov 12th, 2010. SPACE is proud to be conducting this program in India on
behalf of the Great Worldwide Star Count this year.
This international event encourages everyone to go outside, look skywards after
dark, count the stars they see in certain constellations, and report what they
see online. This 'Windows After Dark' citizen science event is designed to
raise awareness about light pollution and the night sky and encourage learning
in astronomy.
SPACE invites you to join us in this citizen science project, where each
observer gets a chance to estimate and report their results. See the
SPACEProject Dark Skies (http://projectdarkskies.org/) website for details.
File uploaded includes:
1. Invitation to this program with Registration and Participation details.
2. Poster about this program that you can put up on your bulletin board to
encourage participation.
Please join us in this program, as each observation will contribute information
about light pollution in your local area and contribute to building a light
pollution map for India. SPACE will award participation certificates to each
registered amateur astronomer, For queries, please write
