I mentioned that I have been researching this stuff for awhile. I
figured I could post all the relevant links I have found that might be
of interest to people here.

*N.America weather sounding locations: http://weather.uwyo.edu/upperair/sounding.html

*Good Balloon writeup and links: http://vpizza.org/~jmeehan/balloon/

*Byonics trackers (gps+radio) for $95 (I own a tinytrak+):

*Make Magazine is doing something similar to LPSU:

*My contact who builds tiny transmitters/GPS for rockets: http://www.bigredbee.com

*Two way communication possibility ($?):

*Possible cutdown idea (scroll down): http://wiki.ukhas.org.uk/ideas:flight_support

*Live transmit pix from balloon in flight with MMSSTV? Possible! (I
have this): http://mmhamsoft.amateur-radio.ca/

I have others, but I didnt want to run the risk of further double
posting.

While researching the Power to transmit functionality of the Kenwood
Radio, I came accross this site.. http://www.mrc.uidaho.edu/~atkinson/ENGR204/Borealis.pdf
It is very well written and the documentation is excellent. Lots of
good info inside.
