There's something called the "New Orleans Musician Hurricane Relief
Fund" (different than other things I've posted). They have a website
with an online application for money. Read about this in the gambit.

Hey Jeanne,

THanks for the info, but as a member of the LPO, you will NOT be able
to get money from them. I applied, and they wrote back claiming they
already gave $10,000 to the LPO and therefore, I cannot get money from
them.

So if anyone gets money, I'd love to know!

Thanks Jeanne,

I applied also, but I did not provide my social security number. I
recommend to everyone submitting applications to do the same. The site
is not secure, and I think it's dangerous to provide SS# when we're not
sure about the organization.

I replied back to the guy and he said they issued checks to TWO LPO
members (so I guess you were one) a few weeks ago and then decided the
best way to go was to donate a lump sum instead of to individuals....so
there goes that money. It was a nice thought, but we'll probably not
see that money. I don't think the LPO is going to divide it up and
send us all checks. So much for that. I guess I will have to start
leaving the LPO out of my forms...pretend I'm a freelancer.
