News about Music!
Hi all, I thought I would send out a short newsletter to everyone since there are a few items to share:
1. National LPM has a few scholarships that they award. It is generally a 50% tuition or a 'free materials' scholarship. Because I don't know your family's needs, I'm not reaching out to you one-on-one, but I hope you will tell me if this would be helpful to you and I'll help you apply. This is not for the student who says "I will only continue if you give me a scholarship" but IS for the student who says "We will continue no matter what, but we struggle to make payments." In addition to financial need, LPM considers your commitment to music training and your involvement in class when selecting applicants. So, step forward! I also have found ways to barter and such with families when financial misfortunes come along, so come talk to me if that is you.
2. Through Wednesday evening FEB 20, you can
submit a "practice tip" short video and hopefully win a month of free tuition! This is from the corporate LPM. I have some experience with this...and I think you have a 50-75% chance of actually winning! The odds are ever in your favor on this one! No kidding- if you need help I will help you video it or help you come up with an idea.
3. You're also encouraged to
check out the national blog (and see where it says "raise your voice"?) If you submit a testimonial comment, you might win $10 tuition money! Again, your chances are pretty good. They repeat the drawing EVERY MONTH.
4. And while you're online, follow
ME, GINA! the official poster to the national Facebook Page and
Twitter Account! I share lots of research about music, funny songs that relate to music class, and news about national LPM goings-on.
5. A few of you are planning ahead for our END OF YEAR RECITAL which will come on MONDAY MAY 20. And, we like students to wear a Let's Play Music! T-shirt for the show.
If you buy a new shirt,
bring your 5$ to LESSON 9.
-- If you have a RED or BLUE shirt from last year and want to sell it, bring it to me and I will help you sell it for $3 (get it to me before LESSON 9).
-- If you are a FIRST YEAR student, plan to buy a new shirt for
$5 or a used shirt (see above) for $3.
-- If you are a SECOND YEAR student, plan to buy a black
$5 or pink(girly-fitted)
$7 shirt.
The girly shirts will also have a flower corsage!
--If you are a THIRD YEAR student, plan to wear your best dress-up recital clothes!
