Fracking has provided huge value to the
US and to Colorado and to every individual.
If you are concerned about climate change: The inexpensive gas produced has displaced coal and reduced our CO2 emissions dramatically.
If you are concerned about energy independence: Fracking of oil and gas has allowed the US to finally become a net exporter of energy.
If you are concerned about contaminated water: Fracking occurs at least 1000' below the surface this is too far below the water table to allow any contamination.
If you are concerned about the environment: Fracking along with horizontal drilling allows one small pad to support the production that would have taken several football fields of concrete.
If you are concerned about war: Fracking allows us to be independent of Saudi Arabia and all the other Middle Eastern despots.
If you are concerned about families: Fracking has dramatically reduced the price of fuel for cars and for home heating. This reduction has helped everyone's budget.
We should support fracking for all the above reasons and, maybe most importantly, on the basis of property rights.
