Hello Group,

This is a place for old- and new-timers to meet each other's
acquaintances. Tell us a bit about yourself. Why are you interested in
community gardening? In which area of Portland do you reside? Are you
currently gardening? What are some of your other interests? This is
the place to meet your neighbors and perhaps even make new friends!

Hi everyone... this is Windy here. I'm one of the moderators for the
FLPCG Group. A little about me: I've lived in Portland just a little
over 2 years now and have always lived in apartments, so I've never
really had the opportunity to have any sorts of gardens. When I lived
in Florida, I worked for approximately 3 months on a CSA-supported
organic farm. It was truly fun and exciting, and rewarding to take
home the vegetables at the end of the day that we had worked so hard
to harvest that same morning. Some other interests include:
photography; marionette-making; writing; watching movies; cooking;
bicycling; adventuring; and lots of other things that end in -ing! So
far, I'm impressed with the level of volunteerism (and enthusiasm)
from all our members! I've had a chance to speak with a few of you on
a one-to-one basis and am excited to eventually get to know the rest
of you better!

See you around!

Good morning!  I'm Maggie and I live a couple blocks from the proposed site in a duplex with no garden space.  I've been in Portland for ten years and currently have a plot at Colonel Summers.  Growing up in rural Pennsylvania, my parents gardened in the summer and grew most of our fruits and vegetables.  I feel fortunate to have grown up around gardening and to have a plot near where I live--and want others in the community to have the same opportunity.  In my spare time I enjoy reading, getting outside, canning, baking, cooking--pretty much anything food-related!  Looking forward to meeting everyone and working to bring this garden to fruition (no pun intended).
