I want to make sure that everyone is aware of the continuing communications between Kurt and I.  While the entire email isn't relevant to the Board I want to make sure that you are all up to speed on things that do affect the Board and decisions we have made.

Email from Kurt this morning:

Marching in a parade is not a football decision and there is an absence of any written policy on who marches in the parades for our club.   Al Lambaria said that marching in parades is a PR decision.  He told me that as PR director, he thought it was a good idea for teams to march.  You complained below about how other teams have called wanting to march in the parade and how all stars prevents only letting certain kids march.  I also made it clear that the VFW wants as many Little Panthers to march as possible and never said we were the only team that could march.  When I asked you last night if you want football players that wish to honor the VFW’s request to march behind cheer, you said no.  So now your opinion went from all players should be allowed to march to only the all-stars should march which means that you only want the All Stars to represent the club.
My response:

I never said to you that the football players couldn't march behind us..  What I said was that they shouldn't be marching at all.  It was a Board decision (previously and last night again) that All-Stars is our PR and they pay $1500 to be our PR, therefore, they would be the only ones marching.  Its my understanding that you will notify the VFW and the teams of the Board's previous decision and that the All-Stars will be marching.  I hope you continue to honor your word from last night's meeting.  To show its not personal and that I support all sports, I offered the $250 credit from All-Stars marching to go towards your team's banquet fees.

No secret but trying to keep e mail traffic down and find out why Jen bothered to tell us that other teams were complaining about not marching when she just could have told them that no one is supposed to be marching but cheer.

If we make motions on issues they need to be made or written in a policy manual.

They are discussed at the Board meetings and then put into the minutes.  Now you want to create a book of all motions passed ~ this is why there are minutes.

There wasn't much I could say to the parents complaining because they knew your team was marching.  Its much easier to tell parents that is just All-Stars marching when its true.  Again, we voted on this issue and you said you would make a call to Carol and the VFW.

I did call Carole and told her that the board didn’t approve our team or any team marching in the parade.  She is going to call the VFW to give them the bad news.  She will also tell them that cheer is marching for the Little Panthers.

I am simply saying that if a motion is passed that essentially becomes a policy it needs to be added to the by-laws or a policy manual for reference.
