How does the author show the development of Baba's character in consideration to his obligation to uphold his societal standards of respect and honor, and does this contrast with his relationship with Amir?

The author has shown Baba's character development wanting to remain his societal standards, his actions that prove that are by making the decision of saying Hassan is Ali's son so that Baba reputation could remain. And with that reputation respect and honor take place. These standards interfere with Baba and Amir's relationship by Amir trying to please Baba by his actions knowing how tough Baba is on him.
