KEY OPENING DATES

o March 7: "Prescience" solo booth with Madrid’s Max Estrella Gallery at Armory Art Fair in NYC, with three new interactive art pieces.

o March 8: World premiere of the feature documentary “Megalodemocrat: the Public Art of Rafael Lozano-Hemmer”, filmed by Ben Duffield over 10 years in 25 cities, including work in Trafalgar Square in London, Tlatelolco in Mexico City and New York’s Park Avenue Tunnel. The film features music by Steve Reich, Michael Nyman, Batallones Femeninos, Scanner and others. It will be the opening night of the 36 Festival International du film sur l’art in Montréal.

o May 2: “Rafael Lozano-Hemmer: Public Sampler" solo show curated by KyoungRan Kim in the new Chipperfield-designed AmorePacific Museum of Art in Seoul, featuring 27 large-scale immersive artworks in 1,900 m2 of space.

o May 23: "Rafael Lozano-Hemmer: Unstable Presence" solo exhibition at the Musée d’art contemporain in Montreal, with 21 large-scale artworks in 1,600 m2 of space. Co-curated by Rudolf Frieling from SFMOMA and Lesley Johnstone from MAC. The show features works on loan from TATE, Borusan Contemporary, CIFO, and other collections.

o June 10: “Voice Theatre” large-scale interactive public art piece in Basel’s historic "Augusta Raurica" Roman Theatre, curated by HEK’s Sabine Himmelsbach. The piece will be presented during Art Basel and free shuttle service will be available.

o June 22: “Los Muertos no Hablan” a permanent commission for the 200 anniversary of the birth of Mexican poet Ignacio Ramírez el Nigromante, done in collaboration with Jesusa Rodriguez and actor Damián Alcazar, in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.

o September 29: "Solar Equation” major installation at the Koolhaas-designed atrium of the Musée National de Beaux Arts in Québec, curated by Bernard Lamarche.

o October 23: "Rafael Lozano-Hemmer: Pulse" solo exhibition covering the entire 2nd floor of the Hirshhorn Museum in DC, curated by Stephane Aquin.

o October 31: "Border Tuner" huge public art piece to interconnect El Paso - Ciudad Juárez with bridges of light, microphones and loudspeakers. Curated by Kerry Doyle from the Rubin Center in El Paso and Alejandro Morales from Proyectos Impala in Ciudad Juárez.
