Finally installed my Audio server.  I would like to use the audio server as a stream source and also stream to wifi or ethernet connected speakers and I was hoping that the airplay 2 support would allow this but my take is that it won’t.

There is no way to get the Audioserver to play in other Airplay zones, right?

(Streaming from an apple device is not an option as the stream is interrupted when the person with the device moves between access points.)

I have been using Sonos as a streamer for my  second hand Elan system and this way I have also been able to connect directly to some sonos speakers but I guess Loxone will not support this setup. I also have a chromecast audio to the analogue port of the Sonos.

Other than that, great product supporting multiple Spotify accounts etc

My plan was to get Sonos out of the mix and use Loxone and Elan only or at some point maybe Loxone only. That said Elan can play directly to Sonos but you need the setup software to add any new speaker...

(You can use iTunes remote with a PC/Mac setup to manage Airplay devices but it is not exactly the most user friendly setup.)

your stream should not been interrupt when users roams between Wifi access point
(i know is not the answer your expected...) check your configuration, or by Unifi AP, you will greatly improve you're Wifi user experience.
Spotify is another great solution to avoid this.

Thank you but it is not a solid enough solution to use a mobile client as the streaming source for a building or area, you may walk to the other building and loose coverage and the music comes to a stop in the main building.

So if you want to stay with one App for audio and be able to transfer audio both by speaker cable and data Sonos is pretty much the only choi$e...

Also, is it possible to set auto on for the analogue in?

Kindly Stefan

You may want to look at Lithe Audio, the owner of the company has a Loxone system installed in his house, so they have made their WiFi speakers compatible with Loxone. www.litheaudio.com

Thank you, I emailed them. If the audioserver can play directly to their speakers this is a great solution. That sounds a bit optimistic though.

Yes, it would be great, but at £400 each it makes the Loxone speaker look cheap as chips!! Even their bluetooth version is over £200.

It's very disappointing that Loxone don't seem likely to be providing AirPlay2 out to Sonos speakers when that was originally promised when the AS was launched. Let's hope their buy out of Quadral results in some sort of evolution in remote speaker connectivity. Many customers have bought Audioservers on the back of the "coming soon with a software upgrade" promise. It's already been 8 months since launch and if they're not careful the lack of connectivity, especially to Sonos will see customers go elsewhere.

I believe its compatible with old Music Server (uPnP bridge or Airplay bridge from LMS) only. I'd be very surprised if that would be compatible with Audioserver.
