Hi,

does anyone know which door/window contacts that are wireless are compatible with loxone? I think the enocean one is over priced when considering lots of windows and I don't like the idea of having to supplement my system with an enocean extension when there is a perfectly good albeit closed wireless network being broadcast by my loxone air base station.

thanks

This is a possible Loxone Air solution:

The temp/humidity sensor includes two digital inputs.

Or this one:

With 2 outputs and 6 inputs.

But with these solutions you still need wired door and window contacts.

Loxone Air uses 6LoWPAN over 868Mhz (in Europe), but as far as I know there aren't any window/door contacts which use that standard. Most 6LoWPAN devices are still fairly large or so it seems. Of course you can use all kinds of different wireless contacts if you create/buy a bridge between the protocol that these contacts speak and something that the Miniserver understands... But your options really depend on your technical skills I guess.

what shame - there seems to be a gap in the market. I wouldn't have thought it would be that difficult to make one once the controllers are small enough and couple with a small button battery.

It is good to know that 6LoWPAN is being used at least so future proof against hundreds of devices on the same network.

I don't think it would ever be possible to connect any other 6LoWPAN  devices other than the ones integrated by Loxone if Loxone does not open up a scripting/programming solution with access to the stack.

So there is only EnOcean as a directly integrated solution. Other than that, we need to use some gateway to another wireless protocol and establish a communication link over IP, which can be complicated.

We sell an EnOcean door/window contact which is cheaper (62 euro, excl VAT) but this is still expensive if you need many. It's also smaller and available in silver grey and anthracite.

I do like the enocean devices - its just a shame they are so expensive. Maybe a battery powered equivalent would be cheaper?
