Dear Loxone community,

For simplified access or room control I would like to use a fixed (android) device and then the kids for example could have an NFC tag, maybe even for opening the door.

Any device that reads NFC on the front screen?

Also, unrelated, Ipad Mini 1 - Is it too slow for fluent operation? (Reason for asking, it is an affordable touch panel but no NFC)

ipad mini 1 will be quick enough, but does it support the latest versions of ios and the loxone app? you can get stuck where newer apps require a certain version of ios which excludes some earlier hardware

Thanks Duncan,

I believe the Mini supports up to iOS 9.5 so it would be good for now (with Loxone app) but at some point you would probably face "This app requires iOS 11 or later". In my experience old apps that support lower versions of iOS never stays on the app store. Presumably Apple guidelines.
