Something I've been meaning to resolve for a long time is a Smoke Detector air stuck on version 6.3.2.26. I have had it years but the other device bought at the same time has happily updated to 10.0.9.3.

It happily connects to the miniserver, just refuses to update (and has done for quite a while).

Any ideas if I can hard reset to a factory firmware then try updating?

It hasn't particularly bothered me as its not the most sophisticated of devices - I just want to ensure it remains compatible.

cheers

I'm not sure there's a simple procedure for that.

On the other hand, remove the association, then re-associate it near the Air extension should work...

Thanks Arnaud.

I unassigned and 're-learnt' the device and its showing as green on the device monitor despite remaining on 6.3.2.26. I'll try changing the batteries and if that doesn't change things, I think I'll leave it as is.

Strangely, it is showing as two 'hops' back to the base unit despite being about 2m from the extension base...? Oh well.

cheers

Call Loxone support - i suspect there may be an undocumented way of forcing an update

The air device software doesn’t make any sense to me at all and I can’t help but believe the battery powered device code is rubbish. I have a number of window/door contacts some of which hop when they probably shouldn’t and don’t hop when they most certainly need to. The weaker the signal the greater the drain on its battery and whilst replacing one or two batteries isn’t such a great deal, replacing ten at a time within six-nine months is annoyingly expensive. I believe the software is fundamentally flawed and the claim of powered devices creating a mesh is just not in reality true. The most disappointing aspect of our Loxone install.

Have you tried opening miniserver device status window, right click on it and select Hold wake (you have to wait for it to respond ie next time it talks to mini server) worked on an air pir which I never fitted for a few years was rather old firmware got stuck never updated. Best to right click and sleep after or it will prob kill the batteries quick.
