Hi all,

Today I got an email from our Minisever about a failed auto-update. See below.

I ***NEVER*** want our Miniserver to update anything on it's own. Loxone do not have a very good track record regarding updates :(

Case in point: I recently noticed loading the web interface went from 'Loading Script 1 of 13...' to 'Loading Script 1 of 49...' I assume this is something to do with their new 'Ambient Mode' but I will never use that so don't want all these scripts loading slowly every time I open the web UI. This new web UI appeared on it's own and at the time found that annoying. Side rant: I really don't like the architecture of the Loxone Web UI, this 'Loading...' stuff is horrible and could be done better in any number of ways.

That aside, our Miniserver is at what I consider low utilisation (65% or something) so no way any update should fail anyway (like I said - Loxone has a bad track record!).

Does anyone know how to disable all automatic updates for everything?

TIA,

Robin

The auto-update could not be performed because the free memory of your Miniservers is too low!
Restart your Miniserver to clear the memory. Your Miniserver will automatically restart the auto-update.
You can also reduce the memory required by optimizing your programming. Project Validation in Loxone Config can help you with this.
Further details can be found under the following link.

I didn't think Miniserver's did auto updates. Mine never have, I just get notifications that updates are available.

Mini servers can be set to auto update on minor updates but any major update must be done manually. I believe the setting is in the Loxone config software but may be one of the settings that can only be accessed within 30 minutes of a power cycle.

Ahhh... it's on the project properties. Have unchecked that. Thanks :)

Yikes, same here, auto-update was failing due to low memory...
I never knew this option was appearing in the UI, should at least have been off by default with Loxone asking to activate it, imho...
AND, the popup info panel underneath mentions this should never happen to the miniserver itself ...

My miniserver seemed to do a major update two weeks ago on it's own, and then unwind itself.  It had been quite happily running the latest v13 firmware and then out of the blue I got a status email with about 30 different errors regarding IRC, Temperature thresholds etc.  The interesting bit was the intro:

Dear user,

Your Miniserver 'Pxxxs Gxxx' (SN 504Fxxxxxxxx, V 14.0.3.22) would like to inform you about several events

It seems the miniserver had upgraded to v14 (still in Beta at the time) found a load of issues, and then reverted to v13, because by the time I went to check through config, everything was still as it should be in v13.

Anyone else experience this and explain how this can even happen?!  I did check with my Partner and he had no idea either.

Thanks

Pete
