Hello,

I'd like to use Loxone tree touch in my home.
At the moment I have wired a UTP cat7 cable to every spot where I want a tree touch.
First plan was to use regular push buttons / digital inputs on the miniserver/extensions because they are simply good lucking and offer extra sensors.
But right now I am not sure how set up the wiring in my cabinet where the tree extension is.
Do I terminate all my UTP cables on a bread board? Or are there other, cleaner, solutions to handle this?

Best regards

Usually, it would be Tree Extension wired to MiniServer in the cabinet. 1 Tree extension has 2 'branches' available to it. Recommendation is 1 branch per floor. Link the Touch Trees in series if possible. Or run each cat7 from each Touch back to a single 'branch' on the extension (as long as they're on the same floor if following best practice.), repeat for each floor.

Regarding the termination I did recommend using the Loxone 8x4 interconnected terminal block (one block, for each terminal, so 4blocks), instead of a breadboard. The reason I suggested this is because on the Loxone day one training, they had a slide showing multiple connections coming back to one set of terminals (e.g. just the ground floor).

Or you could use the non interconnected blocks. I would say it's totally up to the installer and the scenario presented to them, but those blocks do look like the right solution.

If this is wrong please can the moderator not just delete it but also explain why it is wrong so we can all learn from their experience?

Seb, the solution you suggested seems to be a clean elegant solution.
Thanks for your input. I don't know why your comment got removed. I'd also like to  know.

Solution from seb was:

Have you tried looking at the din rail connection blocks:

http://shop.loxone.com/enuk/push-in-terminal-block-8x4-interconnected-20pcs.html
http://shop.loxone.com/enuk/push-in-terminal-block-8x4-20pcs.html

I have yet to do it but you should be able to use the interconnected blocks (one block for each terminal) so you can star out each of your bus lines.

Just wondering if anyone had issues with the data connection side of tree devices - have connected power but the led on the tree devices flashing red and devices not being found when carrying out a tree device search. I've rewirded several times but get the same issue every time. I've wired the device directly to the tree branch and have tried both branches and several tree devices.

I'm running out of ideas!

I am using the Tree extension and so far have wired two switches and two movement sensors using both branches of the extension. I've had no problems with detecting or configuring anything, in fact entirely the opposite, it's very straightforward.

If you've rewired completely from the Extension to the first device I imagine that rules out the wiring.

So from a novice's perspective:

Have you wired the extension correctly, power and Loxone Bus?
Have you learned in the extension?

Other than that I can only think the extension is duff
