Push Notifications not even showing in web interface now

Hi all,

I know we've spoken at length about problematic push notifications but until recently (erm... could actually be weeks) they had always shown up in the web interface if I had that open.

Today I was trying to figure out why even these notifications have stopped working there though. Thought it was something to do with the user permissions, etc. but then I noticed that all our custom push notifications for all users seem to have died.

What's weird is that blocks that send notifications themselves (like the Door Controller) still work.

That is:

- If the web interface is left open and the doorbell is pressed, which is connected to a Door Controller block, then the web page makes a 'ding dong' noise and shows the intercom camera immediately.

- If the web interface is left open and one of our custom notifications is triggered, nothing happens. Nada!

I looked at live view and can see custom notifications should be triggered but they simply aren't working now.

This isn't a matter of iOS/Android oddities, as I say, it happens when the web interface is open and has a direct connection to the Miniserver.

Anyone else seen this? Checked and double checking all the permissions. Have checked in the web interface Settings->Notifications and they are turned on. Any thoughts as to what else the cause could be?

Are custom push notifications working for everyone else? All this is on 12.2.12.1

Robin,

I can't help with why yours aren't working, but I've got custom notifications and they seem to be working fine. I've got a Miniserver Gen 1 running v12.2.12.1, with notifications through to my iPhone.

Cheers,

At least that is something. Although it means I must be doing something really stupid but just can't see what.

I tried just now to create a new Push Notification group (or whatever they call them) and then created a couple of outputs in that group. I turned permissions on for 2 user groups. Attached to some output I can control easily. Turned the outputs on and off. Saw those coming on and off in Live View but no notifications.

I do note that with one of my existing Push Notification groups (outputs just to Admin's user group) that those are still sending Android notifications to my phone, but when that user is logged in to the web interface, they don't come out there.

What on earth could I be doing wrong? This is super annoying :(

Quick follow up: sent Loxone my config and they are able to reproduce the issue with v12.2.12.1 but not the latest Beta version so they say this issue is resolved... erm... although they don't know what specific fix has occurred which is a bit of a worry.

Anyhow, so they recommend I try the latest Beta or wait until the next release (end of June allegedly).

Not sure I'm keen on using Beta software, has anyone had any experience with this?

Thanks,

Robin

When it's available I usually run beta versions on my system at home and (touch wood) have never had an issue. That may be because I don't have lots of custom logic so it may be different for others.

Although Loxone don't recommend for partners to install beta versions on client systems, in general I think their beta versions are more like pre-release final beta versions and not the flaky beta versions of some stuff I've had in the past!!

I think also public beta versions gives partners and others a chance to look at any additional functionality and sometimes a clue as to what's coming down the line.

Thanks, that's good to know.

So yeah, I tried the beta and this problem is resolved now. v12.4.5.3 for anyone who stumbles across this.

Cheers,
