Hi, I hope someone might have some ideas. I'm not an installer but just a user so I have limited technical experience, but I do have a good Loxone partner that did my install. I'm hoping to do a little work to understand if this is even possible.

I have a pool light controller that I'm installing which uses a 433 Mhz remote controller to switch lights on/off and change their colours. It changes their colours but some patented power on/off tech, not using RGB wires.

Just wondering has anyone used a Loxone system to drive 433 Mhz radio outputs?

Cheers

No personal experience with 433 Mhz, but I did see this some time ago which may be relevant:  https://www.automatedhome.co.uk/wireless/sonoff-rf-bridge-converts-433mhz-devices-to-wifi-for-smartphone-control.html

Wifi devices e.g. Sonoff/Shelly can easily be controlled from Loxone via virtual outputs.

I’ve done it previously with an arguing using rfswitch lib iirc, could then map that to gpio or udp packet

Thanks David! That doesn’t mean a lot to me but I’m sure my Loxone installer will prob understand!

Thanks Daniel, I think that is good for receiving RF commands into Loxone, but not sending RF commands from Loxone?

Something I did in the days of X10 automation, was open up a remote and then connected each button, on the remote, to a relay which was then controlled by and X10 command. Wasn't the neatest solution but it worked very well. The remote only had four buttons, but only three buttons where used.

I am using rflink gateway device with iobroker to control 433 MHz device, receiving and sending into loxone. This works to control my somfy curtain motors.

The solution is limited however by the protocols supported in rflink. A lot of devices have proprietary protocols. Also be careful as 433 MHz is very easy to scan and emulate.

I have tried to read various remotes using this system but am often unsuccessful. Rolling codes or other security measures prevent me to read any 433 MHz signal.

I did find solutions where the receiver end also has relay connections which can be connected to loxone. Wiring is so much more reliable than wireless….

Hi,
I control my Louvalite one touch battery operated blinds using 433Mhz via Loxone. its a few years since I did this and I'm pretty sure it could be simplified. I use a the 433MHz RFXtrx USB RF transceiver connected to a raspberry pi loaded with Domoticz. I also control some cheapo 13A 433MHz mains sockets. It took a bit of setting up but it all works very reliably and seamlessly with the Loxone user interface.
Hope that this gives you food for thought and maybe someone has some ideas about easier ways of integrating the RFXtrx device.
Keith
