Since latest announcement of HomePod from Apple, I think the combination of voice assistant Siri and native iOS support (HomeKit) is going to became the core interface of our inteligent houses (or alternative Amazon Echo or Google Home in case of other preference).

I would like to definitely use HomePod in combination with Loxone. As far I have found only third party (fan based) support, for example https://github.com/CONNCTED/Loxone-NodeJS.

Does anybody know or is aware of the future native HomeKit support in Loxone? I think they have to make this either way in some time, Loxone is too small tech player to compete this.

If you have any experience incorporating HomeKit and Siri to Loxone, please share it with us, thank you.

I managed to connect Loxone to Amazon echo and am able to control lighting with that.
But I had to setup it through additional openHAB server and it was also a main reason I wrote an openHAB plugin for loxone which was not available.
You can find information about how to setup openHAB on openHAB.org and about the plugin and integration with Alexa it here: https://github.com/ppieczul/org.openhab.binding.Loxone
There are also plugins for HomeKit and google home for openHAB available, so this may be an answer for you.
If there is something missing in the Loxone plugin to interact with them, I will be happy to add it.
Good luck
Pawel

Have you seen this:  https://github.com/nfarina/homebridge and this https://github.com/Sroose/homebridge-loxone-ws ?  I plan on (eventually) giving that a try.  I may end up writing my own plug-in for homebridge though.

I use this and it works very nicely! (homebridge + homebridge-loxone-ws that is!)

Loxone will never officially be controlled by homekit i talked to them about it and they told me a stroy about that apple wanted full control of the MiniServer so they have access to all information etc and loxone refused and pissed apple off

Let's hope it wont be a 'betamax' mistake of Loxone.

HomeKit should be coming using Voxior very soon. They have it in Beta and just waiting for Apple to release the update that allows software authentication rather than just hardware as it is at the mo.

That will be interesting.  For large installs though it could be overwhelming?

I like what Voxior have done but my entire solution is self standing - no cloud dependancy.  It would be great if they sold their software for an on premise install even if it costs more.

Amazon alexa is a cloud based product so don’t think they’ll ever be a way around that.

If Voxior are able to get software authentication from Apple, then reason stands that Loxone could also do this directly themselves. Only time will tell.

Is homekit cloud only?

No, HomeKit is not.  Siri is, at least partially.  Apple has been pretty aggressive about doing the voice recognition on device, so some functionality may be available without an internet connection.
