Does anyone know if its possible to get the App on a phone to respond with a sound on a trigger to the miniserver.

What I'd like to do is if some one pressed the door bell and I'm outside trigger the app to make a sound, as the internal door bell can't be heard outside.

if you use the door controller in loxone then it automatically gives you a push notification on apple and adroid phones

Which is quite odd when you're on the other side of the world.....

The other thing i've done is have our smoke alarms give a 'whoop' if the workshop lights are on (ie a noisy room where wouldn't otherwise hear the doorbell).

This is exactly what we have setup...

... and it's sh.t!!!

Basically, even with a good internet connection (problem #1 for some people) the app simply doesn't receive notifications. Sometimes never. Sometimes they are just delayed by several minutes/hours!

To me, it's an absolute disgrace that the Loxone App doesn't talk directly to the Miniserver to get notifications when they are on the same LAN. Sure, fallback to the silly cloud based stuff when it's not, but why go that way if everything can connect locally?

Or maybe the App just doesn't do a proper job of keeping the phone connection alive, like all the messaging apps manage to?

Sorry, bit of a rant because it's such simple stuff but doesn't work as it should and is a major frustration for us!

i think the problem with the app alerts is a loxone push notification issue - i use a doorbird connected to loxone and i get the doorbird notifications almost instantly (along with the internal lights flash from the direct link from doorbird to loxone virtual input), but the loxone push altert can be instant or delayed by hours...

Duncan do you use the doorbird configuration they have for loxone? Meaning video only works locally?

I also use Doorbird, but I let doorbird software send the alert and video as it is more reliable than Loxone alerts.
I can still trigger Loxone to do things re lights and that happens instantly.

Cheers David

Interesting.  I wonder where in the chain the delays occur.  Mine reliably rings within a few seconds - it's more than good enough that we can catch a delivery if we're round with the neighbours.

Yes, there are occasional delays but by no means frequent.  Are the notifications not mobile network dependent rather than wifi?

is this likely due to battery life issues or to what an app can do?
