How is the wiring goes in loxone, how the loxone output will control the high voltage circuit breakers for lighting and AC ?
KNX, as the ONLY STANDARD in building automation, supports more then 350 worldwide industrials.
The "intelligence" is distributed through all "participants" so, instead of Loxone, a single or multiple damages to any device, does not corrupts all system. Loxone is based on centralized controller: if it drops down, the whole system is down.
Since Loxone introduces TREE as a bus support, the wireing trends to be a bus one in Loxone system but Loxone needs 4 wires for transporting energy and information, KNX in most of cases needs only one pair for energy transport and bus protocol support.
To be "rentable", LOXONE needs to sell different extensions , for example, for "high" current breaking power support. The Loxone server supports max 6A per relay (8 relays in miniserver) so that you have to relay through the external "contactors/relays" or you buy the relay extension.
Loxone has an excellent and simple visualisation software running on Android, IPhone, Ipad, AND web browsers. In KNX, wishing to use this function, you need to by some "extra" devices... Loxone has all logic and mathematic functions you need to check, scale, transform adapt ... that you can use by internal Loxone devices or by KNX external devices. In many times logic functions are not provided in KNX devices exception of some specialized devices like ABB or in most of Zennio devices (for example).
Being optimistic: Loxone and KNX together brings an excellent complementary system : by using KNX bus wiring operation and for push buttons support (inputs), by using KNX outputs for dimmers and relays and ... , by using Loxone as an excellent "connected objects" through IP gateway, Loxone as visualisation software, Loxone as multi-protocol gateway, Loxone as using interconnected smoke detectors, water detectors, based on Air technology ...
Even now Loxone introduces DALI gateway in order to add dimming devices into DMX technology actually well supported.
Very often I use both : KNX and Loxone so ... I guess, for me, there is a good way of being friendly : KNX and Loxone .. am I right ?
Hope it helps.
