Does anyone have any any sample config for controlling the latest range of Samsung smart TV via IR Air as I can't seem to get it to function?

Thanks

Don't you teach the commands from the manufacturer remote?

I found the output from the IR air unit to be very poor (compared to Logitech Harmony base unit) - needed to be directly facing the unit to be controlled and pretty close.

I don't know if this is relevant but I had a lot of problems using the IR Air setup, particularly when using its external IR detector. In the end I used a NEET IR Hub and taped one of its emitters to the IR Air receptor and the other emitters (I bought a six way version) to control my other IR controlled equipment. It did mean hard wiring the NEET IR receptor (fixed on the top of the TV) to the  NEET Hub in my AV equipment cabinet (I used a spare CAT7 twisted pair) but had a much more reliable set-up as a result. This is not ideal as it negates the whole point of the IR Air system i.e. being wireless! I do have a rock solid IR sytem now and a way of getting the information into the Loxone system (should I need it).

I think that the main point is that IR Air system is not robust for all IR based systems.

Weird. We did multiple installs of the IR Air using the internal emitters and that works well, from a long distance or even pointing in the opposite direction.

I was running short on time when I tried to set it up, but I couldn't get the app to show meaningful buttons or get it to control the television?

I was using the external IR detector from the IRAir as I wanted a small sensor on top of the wall mounted TV. Using the internal IR detector gave me slightly better results but still very variable. I was using this for various IR AV devices and got very variable results between different makes of devices i.e. LG TV, EETV box , Humax Sat box, Panasonic BluRay player and a Sony Amp. I took a lot of care positioning the IRAir emitters over the receptors on the various AV devices. Maybe I got a bad IRAir? As I said using the NEET IR hub I get rock solid results using either the dedicated IR handsets or a harmony
handset.

Is there a way to do IP control instead? Would probably be more reliable.

Hi Duncan,

Do you know if there is also one for Sony Bravia TVs (KD75XD8505)?

If so, how do I find this. Is it already in config somewhere?

Hi Robbie,

There is no defined template for Sony TVs in the Loxone Config.

You can find them by creating a virtual output and using the device template list.

What is the external IR receiver used for? Can it relay IR from an existing remote to a device that is hidden but has an IR bug from the Control Air attached to it?

I use the IR input on the Loxone IR module as an interface between my Logitech Harmony (wireless remote with IR sender base) and Loxone.   I used an old CD player remote to learn IR to both Loxone and Harmony.  A button press on my Harmony remote sends IR from the Harmony IR emitter to the Loxone IR receiver.  Loxone sets off a command (lights, bliinds etc).

You could set it up so that it just retranmitted the same IR it received.  A bit of a long winded manual process though
