Hi,

Is it my imagination or are KNX bus connection terminals designed not to allow wire removal? You know - the little red/black blocks to connect the KNX bus.

I'm putting together a small test system prior to final installation and I can't work out how I am supposed to remove the cables from this KNX bus connection to move to the final install.

Are you supposed to just pull very hard and they will come out (didn't try that - don't want to break anything!)?

Is the idea, because the red/black block is removable (ish), that if you want to remove a cable you are supposed to just pull the whole block off and throw it away? That does sound like a rather wasteful idea!

While I say, 'ish' above is because while I can remove the block from the bus PSU I have, it doesn't seem to want to budge from the miniserver. Do we get 4 attempts only at using this?!

Cheers,

Robin

you are right - they are designed not to release the wire, although with a bit of gentle traction it will usually come out.

once your 4 uses are up, its time to get another connector block

I can throw in some spare terminal blocks with your next order for free. We have loads of them. Just remind me in a comment.

Trying to remove a wire, you should not pull hard but rotate the wire.

Thanks for the confirmation.

So the block on the Miniserver will come off if I get something underneath it?
