Hi all,
I'm been playing with the V2 Lighting Controller and can't get it to do what I want. Maybe am missing something or maybe this just isn't possible. Hoping if I describe the user case here someone can confirm (how to do it, or if it's just not possible).
So in the kitchen we have 3 light sources:
- Over hob light which is a simple on/off relay.
- Over countertop LED strip which is a dimmable DMX output.
- Main room LEDs with are dimmable DMX output.
We want to use 3 switches:
- One switch for the hob/countertop LED. I want to press this once to turn both those circuits on, and press it again to turn both off.
- One switch to control 'mood' of the main LEDs. Press to make them toggle: bright to dim to bright to dim, etc. Note this should not include 'off'.
- One switch that when pressed will turn everything off.
The first control with hob/countertop LED can be achieved using a T5 input and checking 'mix'. Mixes the hob/countertop LED mood in and out on each press.
The last control is simply connected to 'R' on the lighting controller and everything turns off.
The problem seems to be the middle of these controls. No matter what I try cannot get the main LEDs to cycling bright->dim->bright->dim with each click without them having a side effect of turning off the hob/countertop LED. That's if the hob/countertop LED happens to be on - if it's not on then not an issue ;)
I have tried using a T5 input for the main LEDs with and without 'Mix'.
I have tried using the As mood selection input connected to the output of a counter to toggle between scenes too.
Neither of these solutions works as they both mess with the hob/countertop LED outputs.
It's almost as if when we press the main LED control want a 'dim' scene and a 'bright' scene to be immediately activated then use that control just to toggle the mix of the 'bright' scene in and out. This sounds convoluted though and not sure how to even do that!
Any ideas? Can this really be impossible? :(
Cheers,
Robin
P.S. Bonus points... it would be nice to have the over countertop LED turn on dimly when the motion detector senses someone enter the room at night (we have a night mode). But one step at a time and all that! ;)
