Thank you for the keypad!

But OMG - can we please talk about the ridiculous switches?

The little gem cutout looks cool. But it is a usability nightmare of having to explain to anyone visiting. It also is frankly too over the top - I don't want people looking at my switches.

So they went the other way with the weird embeddable interface. Now it is even more cryptic and you won't be able to find it in the dark.

Loxone, you have to rein in your product designers. They are being a bit too artistic and not nearly enough UI.

You know what I think would be a great control, just absolutely stellar?

A single gang switch with 5-6 tactile buttons and eInk screen for the US and a square one for Europe with more buttons. A little bit of luminescence on proximity. Add in a motion sensor and temp sensor. Comes in white and can be disassembled a bit for painting custom colors.

the device you are describing exists and works fully with loxone and is around £130 each:

http://www.mdt.de/EN_Glas_Push_Buttons_Smart.html

single switch size, touch glass facia, up to 12 buttons, display for user icons and button text, feedback leds and text messages, adjustable backlighting, temperature sensor

the only thing not on there is proximity and tactile buttons

Yeah, that is closer. Shame that the screen isn't eInk instead though. it would be a lot more discrete and wouldn't have to be this black square on your wall.

you can configure the lcd screen to be black or white background using ETS so white screen on white background looks pretty slick if thats how you want it

What about the Basalte Sentido keypads? They seem similar to, but more discrete than, the Loxone keypads. I see that they are KNX - would they be compatible?
