Carrying on from this thread I've now got some control of Loxone from my Harmony Elite remote.
My IR Air (and a nano-Air) arrived at the weekend and I've spent most of today getting it running (it's been a slow process). Review and comments below.
Lesson 1 - and this applies to all Loxone extensions but particularly Air modules. Whatever Loxone's documentation says you really do need to leave the units to update to the latest software before doing anything with them. The IR Air was completely unresponsive when trying to learn IR whilst it was updating.
Using the remote control from an old CD player I taught 10 buttons to the IR Air and then connected these in Loxone. I've added a light and blind controls for my downstairs rooms and a 'macro' that shuts the blinds, turns off the kitchen and hall lights and sets the living room to a particular scene (It seemed to make more sense to do this in Loxone than in Harmony). Also a few basic commands for the amp so I can switch it off as a 'whole house' command.
Then in Harmony I added a new (entertainment) device and repeatedly selected 'none of the above' until it would let me name and learn my own commands.
The Loxone main unit IR is pretty weak and compared to the Harmony base unit it's very directional. I've ended up connecting Logitech's individual IR emitters to both the Harmony and the Loxone IR using a couple of splitter cables and 2.5/3.5mm converter jacks.
It's now working but not all sorted yet. Strangely a couple of my remote buttons only register every other press - any ideas what might be the issue there? It's not a reception problem, it's not speed of press - just ever other press does nothing.
