Hi All,

We are currently installing a new build with Loxone and have specified mains 230V LED spots with a inrush current of 0.2A

The max amount of LED spots we will have on one channel is 12. Each down light has a Inrush current of 0.2A so a total of 2.4A - Despite this being extremely low has anyone had any experience with loading a dimmer extension over the recommended 200W / 230V = 0.86A as this is such low value.

To me, it seems pretty impossible to find a LED downlight with a in rush current that has a lower value than 0.2A but Im sure I can't be the first to put 12 LED spots on one channel..

Changing to 24V spots isn't an option for us at this stage, worst case scenario the larger circuits (of 12!) will have to go on a relay extension with no dimming

Any help on a down light we could use or experience with a similar situation would be welcomed.

Kind regards

Duncan

i wouldnt worry about it - the loxone dimmer is rated for capacitive loads (your dimmable leds) so they will have taken the inrush current into account. they specify that for capacitive loads the steady state ratings have to be halved  - 200w for the 1st channel and 105w for the other 3 channels
