An issue.

I bought a cabinet from Future Automation to house my install (and its on the wall with a lot of unterminated cables in it)

http://www.futureautomation.co.uk/Product/Details/LXN

I then bought a pack of Weidmuller terminal blocks from the Loxone store with the intention of using them to terminate all the incoming CAT6 from switches and sensors

http://shop.loxone.com/enuk/push-in-terminal-block-8x4-20pcs.html

They're lovely things and I can see why they're so expensive. BUT they're too big to fit in the cabinet. The top 2 layers sit out of the cover which means probably the top half is unusable. (Photo attached)

Any suggestions? I think I'm going to have to return them but what's the best alternative?

Hi Simon,

the terminal block are not supposed to be in plain sight (to my knowledge), but behind the door. If I saw correctly from the pictures, the gap between the din rail and the back of the cabinet seems quite big. See if you can modify/change the clips to narrower ones. The cabinet is 100mm deep and the blocks 65,5mm. you should be able to fit it in with slight modifications.

I have not worked with those yet, but usually the blocks are supposed to be out of plain sight, so you don't accidentally touch/clip them. Also connect only low voltage cables to those ;)

rs components havce some 6 layer (instead of loxones 8 layer) connector blocks that may fit

phoenix connect have a large range of screw and push terminal blocks for high current and signal level cables at very reasonable prices

It just seems wrong buying 15A er 32A terminal blocks for cat cables which normally zips a few mA.

Has anyone found  a good LSA-PLUS style conncector for din mount?
I have found this:

But I want to find something like this:

but with LSA style connector insted of rj-45, like this:

Thanks - that occurred to me this morning and I took some spanners to the Din Rail on the Future Automation cabinet.  The DIN rail sits on spacers that hold it at least 40mm off the back plate.  Those looked like the could be cut down and I then checked with Omid at Loxone UK and that's what they do.....

Those look like 3 layer to me with 6 connections - Loxone's Weidmuller terminals are actually 8x4 - 8 layers with 4 terminals on each - ie 32 cables connections each (

I just posted in response to a similar query here: https://groups.google.com/d/msg/loxone-english/NeVrIa6nA-0/saLEZJh6CQAJ
