Hi

I am looking to add an air  con unit to my setup something like 8kw 24000btu DESIGNER Air Conditioning but I have no idea how I could get Loxone to play ball. From what I have researched most units just come with either a remote control or wifi connection , not Lan or Rs232

If anyone could recommend a wall mounted split system inverter unit that can easily be made to work with Loxone , it would be much appreciated. The room size is approx. 55m2 and I have a budget around £1000,

Thanks in advance

Thanks Liteworx, but I need to be able to integrate the unit with the IRC so that it can be combined with the current UFH

you can do that with the IR air - create commands in loxone that send out the relevant IR commands which are learnt from the provided ir remote - eg on/off, fan speed etc then link those commands to the IRC output for cooling and/or heating.

I presume you mean the IR Control Air

I did not think this solution was that adaptable or reliable, cables not long enough, line of sight, interference etc. My own personal preference would be something more concrete but will be happy to stand corrected if the majority stand by it.

A  list of units that people have used, that are more directly controlled would still be useful, not only to me but maybe others as well

Ive been using the IR Air to control a central air con unit along with motorised dampers for each room, I fully control the ac unit and dampers from IRC's for each room
and its extremely effective.

Im letting the IRC's to all the work so if theres a demand for heat the IRC sends the IR command to switch the AC unit to Heating and 34 degrees, once the IRC is satisfied that temperature has been reached it sends the OFF command to the AC unit
likewise with cooling, I set the IRC to auto or manual cooling set the room temp to say 18 degress and the IRC sends the IR Command to switch the AC unit to cooling at 16 degreres and again once temperature target has been reached the IRC send the IR Command OFF to the AC unit .

I Have s separate IRC for my radiators in the same room, you could use the two stage function of the IRC but I prefer to keep the AC and Radiators seperate.

You can get specific MODBUS modules for Daikin indoor split units but this will be way over your £1,000.00 budget

use the wired emitters and that stick to the IR receiver on the A/C unit.    I use that for my Audio/Visual kit with Logitech harmony.  That solves liine of sight and interference.  You can always send the commands more than once if you're having problems.

You can use the lan adapters for Daikin and send http commands.
That is What I do at home. Works fine. I use a set temperature and let Loxone choose the fan speed based on the room temperature.

If you use mitsubishi kumo cloud controller here is a project that I wrote to control it form loxone.

Interesting. Since I am planning on doing Mitsu minisplits for my top floor, this should obviate my need to buy a CoolLinkNet or Intesis which would be a pretty nice saving.

Now just to figure out a cheaper Bryant solution for the other floors.
