PV integration

Hi I have just installed PV at home  3 phase 10kw with a solar edge inverter and an iskra meter

I would like to integrate this into my loon system so i can heat water when i start exporting etc. 

what is the best meter to use. I see that the loxone one is a direct connection rather than clip on which seems a pain . 

any general advice on how best to integrate would be fantastic

Hi Simon,

 I've got the same question with a 7.5KW Fronius with the data manager.  I'd like to heat water with excess power, Fronius makes an "Ohm Pilot" that will put the excess power into a heating element and monitor the tank temp with a sensor for controlling the maximum temp - BUT the ohm pilot is running around 1200 Euro which seems a bit pricey.  Did you or has anyone else devised a reasonable method to do this?

I haven't implemented it yet, but I have tested the individual pieces. My heatpump is warming/cooling our house and heats up our 500L warm water storage. It has a setting to heat up the water to ~60C which I can trigger to a potential free contact. I also have the Fronius connected to loxone, and I also have a youless connected to our main power meter. With these components I do know when I produce more power then required by the house and thus, I can trigger the heating up of the water. All relatively straight forward, however not yet needed in NL. Since we can feed back to the main power grid and use it back whenever needed, without any monetary drawback. The plan of the government is to change that in 2023... so by then I'll re-evaluate this logic.

hi, i found another system from https://myenergi.com which is a lot cheaper than ohm pilot. the good thing about these systems is that they act like an inverter and only use the surplus generated to heat water. eg i have a 13kw immersion heater , but if i am only generating a surplus of 6kw, it only puts 6 kw to the heater.  in the uk the generators assume that you use just 50% of your power and therefore pay for 50% being exported. if you reduce the export  to zero they still pay for the 50% so definitely worth doing here

I didn’t fit an energy monitoring system to my loxone as the loxone sensor is only for a low current rating. I’m still looking for a good clip on one that will integrate with loxone.

I do like the Myenergi products a lot. I was planning to install the Zappi as my car charger (when I finally get an electric car)
