Hi all,

Well, I have said in the past that I wasn't really keen on these voice assistants but... Google actually gave us a Nest Mini for free and I've been stuck inside during lockdown so... voila!

This implements a HTTPS OAuth & fulfilment server in your LAN so is completely free to use, needing no additional cloud infrastructure.

Enjoy! ;)

P.S. OK, Ok, to give a little more detail... works in conjunction with the Loxone adapter and is a little complicated to setup, but tried to document that fully (see link above). Hopefully someone here is game to give it a go? Anyhow, it works perfectly for us and that's what counts! ;)

P.P.S. It only knows about lights and shutters right now but I will add light moods very soon and open to suggestions as what other integration is most useful.

Moods now added (translated to Google Home scenes). Have added a readme for the Loxone commands to list those it knows (hopefully will expand over time):

Again, please throw any suggestions this way. It's pretty easy to add stuff to this now the framework is there.

I've been using Node-RED Nora for Loxone-GH integration for about a year now and lately I decided to switch to Alexa (or rather add Alexa support to my home). That is not easy with Node-RED at all.
So I was looking for a free and simple way of integrating both voice assistants with Loxone and I found one. Hoobs, dockered. It's a fork of Homebridge with a really easy interface.
With only 3 plugins (Loxone Ws Adv, Alexa, Gsh for Google) it does the job pretty well exposing devices to both clouds. And possible HomeKit if I was using iOS (but I don't).
It still misses lot of devices, but supports switches, retracting switches, lights (on/off, TW, RGB), moods, blinds, temp sensors, etc.
The only device I really miss is AudioPlayer / Music Zone player support. I've even created an issue on that subject: https://github.com/Sroose/homebridge-loxone-ws/issues/60
Robin I wish you were contributing this plugin, but since you develop your own solution its probably not gonna happen.
But if there is any Javascript ninja here, please consider creating an "item" file for those blocks!

Hi,

Interesting, but...

Node-Red NORA? Looks like this relies on an external cloud.

Hoobs? Looks like a commercial offering but guess you took the 'donate' download. Even then, also looks like this relies on an external cloud service.

Whenever someone else's servers are involved they may or may not disappear in the future or only continue if you pay (the more successful they get, the more likely they are to start charging).

So yeah, not what I wanted.

Cheers,

Robin

Robin,
I did docker pull with Hoobs so no payment. But I might donate them in the future as this software is really nice.
Sure, it relays on homebridge.io cloud to connect to Google and Amazon clouds, but actually I don't care about it that much - voice commands are not even close to be a critical smart home feature for me.
The advantage of using Homebridge cloud and Google/Alexa integration is that I don't need to open any of my router ports and security is much critical for me.

https://hoobs.org/product/hoobs-to-download/ - if you want a whole-rpi sdcard image (7$ donation required)
https://hub.docker.com/r/hoobs/hoobs - if you want a docker version (its free)
Then you need 3 plugins installed I've listed before.
I will make a LoxWiki tutorial later on as there are some glitches to know (such as that it's best to create a dedicated user group in Loxone and assign only specific devices to it, such as how to filter out unwanted moods/lamps within those devices, etc). But it's still very easy and works like a charm.

Anyway, let's not steal Robins thread :)
