Dear Loxone users,

I am in the process of designing my KNX installation which I plan to use with a Loxone Miniserver as a logical module, superviser, and ideally as a KNX/IP gateway.

There is one information that I could not find on the web regarding this gateway feature, do you guys know how many simultaneous (tunnelling) connections can the Loxone handle ?

Thank you very much in advance.

Best regards,
Laurent

hi,
i don't know but i have just one question ... Why KNX if you want to use logic of Loxone why don't you plan to deploy Loxone Tree ?
i can understand this if you already have KNX installation, but if you're about to deploy it, i think this need reflexion.

is there somebody with experience in KNX and Loxone ? but maybe you're decision is conclusive and i'm off topic.

Hi Arnaud, I will not enter the debate pro/con Loxone here because it's off-topic, but personally I don't want to use Loxone Tree because I want to use hardware which is not limited to one brand (KNX is a multi-brands standard, Loxone is a proprietary brand and protocol), and also avoid that the whole electrical installation relies on a central server.

But the Loxone Miniserver is a capable and relatively cheap superviser and logical module for a KNX installation, which can also be used as an IP gateway. It would be even bettter if it could allow 2-3 simultaneous tunneling connections though :-)
