MiniServer running 10.2.3.26

I have an RS232 module hooked to a 3rd party audio amplifier/zone matrix system.

I am using a dimmer function block to generate an on/off signal, and allow selection of a volume level.

This passes through to RS232 actuators where I control the on/off state and the volume state.

The volume state the amplifier expects to get is 78 (for lowest volume) and 00 (for highest volume.

I am using a transform on the RS232 actuator to remap 0 to 78, and 100 to 0.

This is all working.

What is not working is that my dimmer block doesn't seem to be fading. I want there to be a fade when turning on and off, and it seems like I should be able to do that with the Step Size and Step Rate controls, but they don't seem to be working.

Is this not working because the output of the block is an RS232 actuator? Or am I missing something?
I've taken a screenshot of the relevant pieces so you understand what's going on.

Thanks all!

I originally had a professional DSP driving QSC 8 channel amps. It was more complex than I really needed.

I now have a Nuvo Concerto with an Expander. I am not using any button panels.

Cut down a few U in the rack and greatly simplified programming and control needs.

Thanks - K

ahh ok, Its just I've recently got the speakercraft amps working with loxone.. Wrote a webservice to proxy it so loxone can control it from my music server without me having to buy an rs232 extension for the purpose of this.

Makes sense. I don’t mind buying the extensions, I think the simplicity and reduction in points of failure is worth it. I specifically bought the Nuvo for the ease of its rs232 command set.

Nonetheless, anyone know anything about the dimmer module?

Thanks,

Karl P
