Target Input & Voltage

Hi, I have a Philips LED bulb that need to be set to 46% on the 240v dimmer before it comes on. I therefore use the Corrections to say input/target 1 0=46 and input/target2 100=100. I noticed that when the bulb was off, the dimmer was still pumping out 50v. When I removed the setting it reduced to 7v (not sure why it's not 0v).

The dimmer is the predecessor of those Chinese DMX ones [1].

Has anyone else seen this on the corrections? Am I correct in thinking, that even if the bulb is off, it is still drawing electricity.

in effect you have just told your loxone install to deliver 46% of full voltage even when off - whether the bulb actually uses much power at that % is difficult to say, but its not lit so probably not much of a power draw

its nothing to do with which type of dimmer you are using - the same effect would be seen using a knx dimmer or loxone dimmer with the same settings

do you have perception correction turned on? if so, turn it off and see what % you need to start the philips leds on - its usualy between 25 and 35% for this brand depending on the number of bulbs in the circuit.

 That, I think, is 'corrections' working as intended which means it doesn't work for what you're trying to do.

My solution was to use these only in scenes (so that you don't select 'non-working' dim levels) and to set the fade rate to jump to avoid odd switch on/off behaiviour.

Right it seems to be working,

So replace the dimmer with a lighting controller if you want.

The scaler block is where you put in the correction. do not put the correction anywhere else.

Underneath is an analogue watchdog or Aatchdog block, set TU = 0.5, TL = 0.

The last block is a Multiplexer.


The above should allow proper 1% - 100% dimming of the bulb whilst fully turning off any voltage when set to zero.
