Hi, I use an iButton mounted internally in the hall for both arming and disarming, also use the app via an iPhone. The iButton is handy as it makes the alarm work more like a normal intruder alarm (include a buzzer and use the iButtons built in LED's) meaning you can give someone else a set of keys and fob and they can use it (mother in law!). I have many pages of logic to make the Alarm block work more like a traditional alarm ands it now has functions such as:
Exit timer (including disarm during exit)
Entry timer
Entry door (30 seconds)
Entry route (hall PIR)
Buzzer (continuous on exit pulse on entry)
iButton LED (Green off, Red on, flashing green arming, flashing red entry timer)
Internal sound bomb
External sounder and strobe
More functions I'll be adding soon when I get round to it are:
Final door exit as an option
Flashing external security LED lighting
Automatic switching of presence simulation
All the equipment used such as door contacts, sensors, sirens are all standard security products that you would get in a UK intruder alarm and they all can be made to work. I also recommend using GJD Opal PIR's for external lighting, with a 12v relay they work really well for switching security lighting via Loxone and include a push notification and you can be warned of external intruders day or night and I've never had a false activation with these.
Regards
Nick
