Hi Guys,

If you didn't plan your electrical installation properly and you need some extra (wireless) sensors, I would like to inform you that the solution proposed in the following 3 videos is working normally and is quite easy to implement.

1) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LxHar3xlDVA
2) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=msgBQXUZGbU
3) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Mybi29yzNU

All you need is a Wemos D1 mini, about 2.5 euros, and of course the Xiaomi smart home kit. The price of the Xiaomi smart home kit, varies depending on how many and which sensors you buy. For the moment, I would like to point out that I use the motion sensor to arm the alarm function block in Loxone Miniserver. Of course, the above method is not suitable for triggering an alarm system, but since there was no other possibility, that way was something like a one-way street in my own case. At this point I would like to say that I am really excited about how small the motion sensor is in size, and that positioned at a height of two meters, it can detect movement at a distance of 4 - 5 meters at least. I also used the motion sensor to turn on and off a light. The only thing i would like to say is that there is exactly 1 minute delay since the last pulse of the motion sensor. If the sensor send a udp command to the Miniserver, then the next command it will be send after 1 minute, even if there was a movement in between. So, if you can not use for example a wired motion sensor to turn on some lights, then the Xiaomi motion sensor is a cheap and quick solution for you. I also have a multi click wireless switch, witch i am planning to use to turn on and off some lights. I haven't tested it yet, but i would like to believe that there will be no problem.

Very pleased with this solution and the purpose i am going to use it! I want to hope that he battery life of the sensors will be relatively large.

Vampiris,
very nice peace of work!
I'm huge fan of Xiaomi devices (didn't check the smart home solutions yet).

Congratulations!

Very good tutorial, thank you a lot!

I want to add that you can use Lighting Controller block to control RGB devices. Just need a more complicated formula solution, or better a simple PicoC script. Please take a look at my topic: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/loxone-english/wWKHckc0Itw
If you can help with PicoC I would appreciate too.

I did not create the videos and did not write the code. I found this solution and i test it, as i mentioned in my above comment, and i  want it to to share it with you. To be honest, I do not know any programming language...

Hi everyone,
I know this thread is old but, do you know if this way of connecting Xiaomi with Loxone is still working? I would like to integrate it and wanted to know if this was still operational.

In addition, I have been looking for a Wemos D1 mini module as in the tutorial, but I find it difficult to buy the original, somewhere where they sell it?

Thank you!

Is still working and the battery consumption of the devices is very good. I changed only the battery on the Temperature and Humidity sensor, after two years of use. My motion sensor, the water leakage sensors and the multiclick button still using the same battery. In Aliexpress there are plenty devices like Wemos, but there is a possibility that the Xiaomi Gateway can communicate with the Miniserver without the use of the Wemos D1 mini. I will make a test and i will post the result at the weekend.

Can you tell me what do you want to do exactly, so i can help you with my experience with the Xiaomi devices? There is also an alternative with the Shelly Cloud, which are wifi devices and not zigbee like Xiaomi.

The idea is to be able to use the window contactors to warn if there is opening, in addition to some temperature sensor, etc ...
I want to be able to integrate some cheaper component than Loxone proposes.

I think the Wemos D1 device is used to get the "http" addresses that are then used through Loxone, is it possible to do this with Wireshark?

I hope you do the tests since I want to have the smallest possible gateways connected in the network.

Thank you!

I have 4 xiaomi windows contacts, and 4 temperature sensors, work well, the contacts are programmed into loxone as burglar alarm, and also triggering some lights, the temperature sensor only gives the room temperature and humidity, the status changes almost every minute, and the door and window contact give me the changes almost with less than 1 second, the status of the alarm send me a push notification, so by now pretty happy, give a shoot.

Otherwise, you also have the enocean solution when the cabling has not been planned correctly.
This has the big advantage that you don't have to use a third party gateway, so it is less complicated to maintain.
the enocean extension is quite expensive, but the wireless range is excellent, and what a joy to have no batteries to manage.
we use it for motion detection, windows contacts, temperatures sensors ans heating valves.
In fact, in this king of installation, we mainly use Enocean to inform, and Loxone to act.

Τhere is no way to use the Xiaomi devices without the Wemos gateway, sorry for the inconvenience guys!

Manuel Medrano, Xiaomi devices, they have a very good battery consumption, the quality is excellent, you can find them sometimes in very good prices and there is a big range of products.
You must use the Xiaomi gateway and the Wemos D1 to communicate with the Miniserver, but for almost 3 years that I am using those products I never had any problem. Personally I haven't
used the Temperature and Humidity sensor with the Miniserver, but I can confirm that the other sensors are working like a charm.

As I said you can also take look at Shelly Cloud, which are wifi devices and communicate with the Miniserver with http commands. Before you buy those devices, take look at the community
on the Facebook, because there are complains about battery consumption, quality problems and lack of products (for example motion sensors, wirless switches etc.).

Hi everyone,

Can you tell me where to buy the original Wemos d1 mini? I only see clones and I would like to buy the original.
Vampiris, which one you use is original or LOLIN's?

From the Xiaomi ecosystem I will only use the window contacts and temperature sensor, is it necessary to go through the Wemos D1 ???

Would it be more optimal to discard Xiaomi and use Sonoff? There is a product called Sonoff DW1. Would it be possible to integrate it with TASMOTA or something similar to use it via HTTP ???

I would like to not have to be forced to use a gateway to interact with them.

Thanks for the contributions!

You can use any esp 8266 module, not only the d1 mini, its only a matter of price, just change the board type on the software Arduino
