Got to control a couple of Daikin airco split systems via IR Air, but it took me a couple of hours to get to understand how the IR protocol works, and to get it all working.
Anyone experience with other easier ways to integrate, or even 2-way communication?

Daikin have a KNX control system for aircon and their heat pump range too. It's what I plan on using.

If they have the Wifi adapter (1 per unit), you can control it over HTTP with a virtual output (and get 2 way communication with virtual input).
That is how I have done it for my installation,

I have it connected to an Intelligent Room Controller (in my living room as a test for the heating) and have implemented a way to simulate the 0-10V output in chosing the correct setting of the Daikin unit.
For the moment I am trying to find an easy way to also set the output temperature. Is there a way to put a variable in a virtual output (HTTP Post)?

I have used the following resources to implement this:

I am not at home so can't post any screenshots.

Thanks! I'll get the wifi controller. Very affordable and easy to install, also when no cabling for KNX is available.

Actually... I said that, but have been reading the technical docs today and it seems the RTD-LT Modbus control for Daikin Altherma is more feature rich than the KNX interface by Zennio (the KLIC-DA). It may be the same for control of a split using the RTD module.

For example, with the RTD interface one can modify weather dependent offset for leaving water temperature (I read this as being able to modify the UHF heating curve) which I think would be very useful. The KLIC-DA only has a temperature setpoint (I think this is basically a thermostat).

I know this thread is originally about air/air split systems but any feedback from anyone using either of these units with an Altherma would be much appreciated.
