In spite of recent app updates I still think Loxone is some way behind on the user experience so I'm toying with the idea of using Home Assistant to provide a more user friendly front end dashboard.

I've never used HA before so it'll be a learning curve for me but has anybody tried using HA in this way?

I also considered building a HA dashboard in the past, but the main issue I see is that it requires a full remake of the entire Lox Config structure with similar controls and functionality. For sure you could use an AI agent to generate all of this, but it will be static thing, so if you make updates in your Lox Config, it will not automatically populate to your dashboard.
Because of these limitations I started my own app development called LoxBuddy which directly grabs the structure and control states from the Miniserver, and I can control my smart home in a similar way (important requirement for the family!). The ambition is to create a better, faster, and richer app (e.g. integration of LoxBerry plugins).
Note that the LoxBuddy App is still in an very early stage of development, which means it is unstable, incomplete and might even impact the stability of your Miniserver,  so not ready for a production environment. Feel free to post your ideas in the LoxBuddy discussion forum, raise an issue or simply contribute with a pull request :-)
