Hi,

I have a SDM630 modbus enery meter (supported by loxone)
When I wire this up to my modbus extension (wiring is correct, and I know "A" on the modbus extension is right, while "B" is left), no data is received by loxone.

All relevant settings appear to be correct:
Baudrate 9600
stop bit 1
parity even
address 1

But still all sensors remain at a state of 0...

I'm running out of ideas here...

Can anyone help?

Wannes

I had a similar issue some time ago, and found it was a loose wire in one of the terminals. I'd check that first.

Hi,

thanks for taking the time to respond!
Unfortunately, this is not the issue, I used a apir of an utp cable to transmit the signal (just for testing, before I get a permanent solution).
I used the orange - white-orange pair, and they are firmly attached to the terminals.

I see the "telephone icon" flash on my SDM630 meter flashing about every 5 seconds, so that should indicate that it gets a request from loxone?
However, nothing is being sent back, or received, because all values remain at 0.

Is a terminating resistor necessary with modbus?
Loxone wiring guide states nothing about it, but looking through the manual of the SDM630, it says it's optional...

Could that be the problem?

Fixed!

parity had to be set to "none".
Hope this helps any future people who might encounter this problem.
